Salon-Quality Hair Care Routine at Home

Salon-Quality Hair Care Routine at Home

Shampoos and treatments at the salon feel significantly different from those done at home. The scalp feels more refreshed, and the hair's shine and softness last much longer. Here are a few essential tips to achieve that professional salon effect at home.

1. Using a hair steamer before shampooing to loosen impurities

Before shampooing, use a hair steamer while your scalp and hair are sufficiently wet. The warm steam gently opens the pores and effectively softens hardened dead skin cells and sebum. Loosening these impurities beforehand allows for a much more powerful cleansing effect, even with a small amount of shampoo. This works on the same principle as soaking your body in a bath before scrubbing. If you do not have a steamer, you can achieve a similar effect by soaking your scalp in a basin of warm water for a short time.

2. Self-scaling using a scalp massager

If it is difficult to visit a salon for regular scaling, try using a scalp massager. This is especially helpful for those with oily scalps or thick hair. The massager stimulates areas that fingertips cannot reach, aiding blood circulation and cleanly removing buildup between the scalp and hair. Apply it gently to the scalp while you have a rich shampoo lather, and adjust the frequency of use according to your scalp's condition.

3. Kneading treatment for better absorption

Are you simply applying treatment and rinsing it off immediately or just lightly combing it through with your fingers? The key to hair treatment is ensuring the product is evenly distributed and given enough time to absorb. Try adding a handling process where you gently knead the hair with your palms after applying the product. This helps the nutrients penetrate deeply between the hair cuticles, resulting in much smoother hair.

4. Intensive hair care: Combining treatment and a hair steamer

For hair as glossy as if you just walked out of a salon, we recommend an intensive care session about once a week. Using a hair steamer while the treatment is applied allows the warm heat to maximize the penetration of nutritional ingredients. If you do not have a steamer, wearing a regular plastic hair cap and leaving it on for a certain period is also a great alternative. The moisture and heat trapped inside the cap create an effect similar to a steamer, providing a full home spa experience.
